This time it was not. There were 6 of us and a baby. We booked for... read more 6 o’clock. We were put on a small table which was quite cramped. We waited ages to be served with drinks. We chose our food. 3 lamb 3 fish. We were eventually served at 7:30! The baby was restless. The lamb was so pink (which we were told about which probably meant people had complained before) it was almost raw. Just cook it well. People will like it better. The fish was ok but the sauce was very vinegary and not pleasant. When the lamb came to the table it was accompanied by 3 dishes of vegetables. I asked if veg came with the fish and was told we had to share. The veg was pretty much unrecognisable. My pudding was panacotta. I usually like this but it was covered in a lumpy brown powder and when I scraped this off it was not very good. What a total disappointment. This was a special meal which cost 300 euros. We won’t be returning and will advise others not to go.

They communicated with us by email before our booking on what to expect and all went very smoothly.... read more Food was delicious, we were a family party of 5 on holiday in BallyB for the week over the bank holiday weekend. Staff were very friendly and efficient and were constantly sanitising their hands. Look forward to going back on our next trip to Ballybunion.

Great wine selection, full bar with great Guinness -really fantastic food - warm cosy atmosphere & the best Irish coffees around! Perfect spot for a celebration dinner - ticks every box!!

The pub / restaurant is very popular and gets packed very quick so make sure you book a slot.....you won't be disappointed. I had the fish one evening and steak the next night , food is amazing, staff are just lovely great atmosphere and vide .
Una and her family are just lovely who run McMunns . I would highly recommend you stay here if ever in Ballybunion , also golf course is just down the road and it's on the coast line just in front of the beach and lovely cliff walks. Nice cafe next door for lunch & fresh bakery also.
